DRUG LAB REMEDIATION
We are trusted professionals in remediation, specializing in the cleanup of homicide, suicide, hoarding, accident, and crime scenes. We handle both biohazards—like blood and bodily fluids—and chemical contamination from fentanyl, meth, and other illicit drugs in homes, buildings, and vehicles.
Fentanyl
Fentanyl is primarily manufactured by chemists in China and is often shipped in bulk quantities, such as bricks or kilos. Just one kilogram of fentanyl, when diluted at a ratio of 1 part fentanyl to 100 parts filler (such as caffeine), can yield approximately one million pills. There are an estimated 1,400 variants of fentanyl, but only around 200 have been synthesized and studied. Odourless and tasteless, fentanyl is extremely difficult to detect.
AHS/OHS Approved Remediation Process
Restoration companies aren’t equipped or trained to handle fentanyl contamination. Our specialized expertise, training, and proper equipment make us the trusted choice for safe and thorough fentanyl remediation.
Our fentanyl remediation process has been examined and approved by Alberta Health Services (AHS), the provincial health Agency in the province. Our approach exceeded the agency’s expectations and is now being used as a guideline for fentanyl and carfentanyl cleanup procedures across the province. Our process was developed during an actual remediation project in 2017 involving a two-bedroom apartment contaminated with both substances. We tested our encapsulating solution on both wet and dry fentanyl using an ion scanner calibrated to detect five to seven fentanyl variants. After a single application of our solution followed by one wipe with a biohazard cloth, the scanner showed a 99.997% reduction in detectable fentanyl. The scanner detects down to the nanogram, underscoring the precision of our results. Our standard protocol includes triple cleaning of all contaminated hard surfaces with the solution, followed by a final rinse and wipe, ensuring complete and verifiable fentanyl removal.
By following AHS and Occupational Health and Safety regulations and by developing, testing, and refining our own process, we exceed industry standards. This gives us—and our clients—the confidence that every job is completed not just to the highest level of our ability, but to the highest standard in the business.

Education and Awareness
The key regarding safety in our communities is awareness education. There are fentanyl drug labs increasing in Canada and they have been found just about anywhere: in rented homes and apartments, motel rooms, rental vehicles, abandoned buildings, barns and garden sheds. Be alert for signs of a potential fentanyl drug lab operation, including: unusual amount of white or coloured powder on walls, floors, the unusual thumping sounds that could indicate a pill press machine, chemical odours – often a strong vinegar smell, tenants reluctant to allow landlords to inspect the property, payment of rent in cash, surveillance cameras, curtains always drawn and exhaust fans running at odd times. Residents may wear filtration masks, safety glasses or other protective equipment. They may remark that they are “painting”. If you suspect that there is a clandestine fentanyl lab operation, leave the area immediately; do not investigate; do not enter the premises; Contact your local police – 911.
